Casualty impales hand on tree root in Cerne Abbas

Firefighters were called to help paramedics

Emergency services were called out yesterday afternoon after a person impaled their hand on a tree root.

The accident happened in Cerne Abbas.

Paramedics asked Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue to help them free the casualty.

A spokesperson from DWFRS said:

"A crew from Maiden Newton sent to assist paramedics release a casualty with a hand impaled on a tree root.

"The casualty was released using small tools and handed over to paramedics."
