Cash and jewellery stolen from rooms at two Weymouth hotels

A police investigation's been launched after 9 hotel rooms on Weymouth seafront were burgled in one evening.

Dorset Police have told us 7 hotel rooms were targeted at the Hotel Prince Regent and two rooms at the Russell Hotel, both on The Esplanade.

The incidents happened last Friday, 8th October.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said:

"The incidents occurred between 6.30pm and 8pm on the same day and cash and items of jewellery were stolen.

"Enquiries are ongoing into the incidents.

"No arrests have been made."

Jon King, Head of Operations at Daish’s Holidays, said:

“We are working closely with the police while they carry out their investigations, and our staff are supporting affected guests.

“We regularly review our security measures to ensure they are as robust as possible. In response to recent events, additional measures have already been implemented to provide reassurance to our guests, and we will continue to carefully monitor the situation.”
