COVID-19: Case rates fall in Dorset Council area

We have the latest data from Public Health Dorset

Public Health Dorset's latest data shows that our coronavirus cases are continuing to fall in the Dorset Council area.

The case rate for Dorset Council is now slightly lower than the South West region average (93.7). The case rate for BCP Council is still above the England average (137.8), but the margin is smaller than in previous weeks.

According to the latest data published for the 19th February, there have been 978 cases in both the Dorset Council and BCP Council area in the last 7 day period.

That's 349 in Dorset and 629 in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council.

The number of COVID-19 patients in hospital beds is much lower than at the peak in January, but is still higher than anything we experienced during 2020.

Dorset: 92.2 (Compared to 146.6 in last update on 12th February)

Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole: 159.1 (compared to 250.2 in last update on 12 February)

HOSPITAL ADMISSIONS

There has been a small rise in the number of hospital admissions in Dorset.

Current COVID-19 patients in hospital beds in Dorset 194 (Compared to 190 in last update on 15th February)

DEATHS

Deaths that occurred within 28 days of a positive test result in Dorset are 8.

Since the 13th February, 3 people have died in the Dorset Council aree and 5 have died in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area.

VACCINATIONS

Up to 14 February, 240,890 doses had been administered to people in Dorset.
