Appeal for car stolen from Dorchester

Dorset Police appealing for witnesses or anyone with information about the alleged theft to come forward.

Officers are investigating a claim that a car was stolen from an address in Dorchester.

Dorset Police received a report on Wednesday 14 April 2021 that a black BMW 320D M Sport had been stolen in Damers Road some time before Friday 9 April 2021.

A further report was received on Thursday 22 April 2021 that the car had been located near to where it had been stolen from in Windsor Road.

Following enquiries, a 22-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and driving a motor vehicle without valid insurance. He has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Police Constable Scott Williams, of Dorchester police, said: "We are carrying out an investigation into this report and are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the vehicle being driven in the area between Friday 9 April and Thursday 22 April 2021. I would also urge anyone to get in touch if they have seen anyone entering or exiting the vehicle in the area of Windsor Road during this period.

"The car involved is a distinctive vehicle with black alloys and smoked rear windows."
