Car owner attacked in Shaftesbury after confronting man damaging his car

A man's been repeatedly punched after confronting a man who kicked his car causing damage

A man's been assaulted in Shaftesbury after confronting a man who was damaging his car.

The incident occurred at around 11.45pm on Friday 5 November 2021 in Bell Street.

It is reported that a man kicked the front passenger side of a vehicle, causing damage to the door and wing mirror.

The owner of the car confronted the man, but the offender became aggressive and started punching the victim.

Description

The suspect is described as white, aged in his early 20s, approximately five feet ten inches tall and of slim build. He was wearing a blue jacket with a dark-coloured hooded top, dark-coloured tracksuit bottoms and a black scarf around the lower part of his face.

Police Appeal

Police Community Support Investigator Amelia Vaughan, of North Dorset police, said: “Thankfully the victim did not sustain any physical injuries, but he was left feeling very shaken up.

“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed what happened, or recognises the man from the description given, to please come forward.

“I would also ask motorists who were driving in the area to please check their dashcams for any relevant footage to help my enquiries.”
