Car fire in Weymouth considered suspicious by police

Officers are investigating the circumstances

Police in Weymouth have described a car fire as 'suspicious' and are looking for information on what happened.

The vehicle was found alight on the junction of Blenheim Road and Lancaster Road at around 3.50am on Sunday (5th March).

Firefighters attended along with police.

It's believed the fire was started deliberately.

PC Jody Durkin-Jones, of Weymouth police, said:

“We are investigating the circumstances of this fire and I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area during the early hours of Sunday 5 March 2023.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have captured any relevant footage on home CCTV, doorbell cameras or dashcam.”
