Car window smashed in Bournemouth criminal damage incident

The vehicle was searched by an offender before they were disturbed

The window of a car's been smashed, and searches carried inside, in what police are treated as a criminal damage incident in Bournemouth.

A red Hyundai was targeted while it was parked in Surrey Road at around midnight on Wednesday 27th March.

An offender made off in the direction of Bournemouth Gardens when they were confronted.

Nothing was taken from the car.

A man involved is described as:

  • Aged in his 40s
  • Medium build
  • Five feet nine inches tall
  • Wearing a blue baseball cap
  • Blue coat with a white fur hood
  • Grey chinos

PC Zeke Gura-Lowe, of Bournemouth police, said:

“We are conducting enquiries into this incident and I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area of Surrey Road in the early hours of Wednesday 27 March 2024.

“I would also urge residents and motorists in the area to check any available home CCTV systems or dashcam footage to see if they have captured anything that might assist our enquiries.”
