Car crashes into porch of North Dorset pub

A man suffered minor injuries in the Melbury Osmond collision

A car's collided with the porch of a North Dorset pub, with police investigating what happened.

The crash was reported at around 6.00am yesterday (Monday 25th November), at the Sheaf of Arrows on the A37 Yeovil Road in Melbury Osmond.

A blue Peugeot 207 was involved.

A man in his 40s from Yeovil was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

There's now an appeal for any witnesses to contact Dorset Police.

PC James Janssen said: “We are investigating this collision and I am keen to hear from any witnesses who have not already spoken to police.

“I would also urge anyone with a dashcam who was driving in the vicinity during the morning of Monday 25th November 2024, to please check any footage for anything that might assist our enquiries.

“Finally, I would like to appeal directly to the motorist of a vehicle that was driving nearby at the time of this collision to do the right thing and come forward so we can take your account of what happened.”
