Blandford shop targeted with racially aggravated graffiti

A CCTV image has been released by Dorset Police.

Police are describing the incident, in the early hours of yesterday morning (Thursday 3rd September) as 'racially aggravated criminal damage'.

Racist wording was sprayed onto a shop front and an alleyway in West Street, Blandford, just before 3.30am.

Dorset officers are now looking to identify the person seen in this CCTV image, in connection with what happened.

PC Kate Schofield, of Blandford police, said:

"This was a very unpleasant and upsetting incident for the victim and I would like to reassure them and the community that a detailed investigation is underway. Hate crime of any form will simply not be tolerated in our communities.

"As part of our early enquiries we have obtained a CCTV image of the suspect. While I appreciate the image is not very clear, it may be that someone recognises this person and I would urge them to please contact Dorset Police.

"I would also ask anyone with information to please come forward."
