If you're vehicle's in need of an Easter clean up, firefighters in Bridport might be able to help you out today (Saturday 16th April)!

The crews there are holding a charity car wash at the Sea Road South station between 10.00am and 2.30pm.

Firefighters will give your car a soapy scrub up in return for a donation to the Firefighters' Charity.

They're suggesting a £5 donation per vehicle, and you can just turn up.

Crew Manager Chris Hobby said:

“The Charity provides everyone within the fire and rescue service with a vital lifeline when things are tough, whether it’s rehabilitation after injury or someone else to turn to during mental health or financial challenges. We know that income has dropped significantly during the pandemic, so we’re keen to raise as much as we can for this great cause.”

The Firefighters' Charity relies on public donations for their work, and needs to raise £10 million per year to support their 55,000 beneficiaries.

Anyone who's served in a UK fire brigade can get help from the charity, towards their mental, physical and social wellbeing, for the rest of their lives.
