Man arrested after Bridport assault is released without charge

A man arrested in connection with an alleged assault in Bridport has been released without charge.

On Saturday 22nd May 2021 at 8pm, the victim, a local man aged in his 20s, was walking along an alleyway at the rear of the bowling green near to Priory Lane when he was approached by a group of six men.

The victim spoke to the men and it is reported that he was then assaulted and sustained injuries to his hand.

A 24-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of assault and has now been released without charge. He will face no further police action in connection with the incident.
