Dorset Police treating Bournemouth incident as hate crime

A CCTV picture's been released of a man that Dorset Police want to speak in connection with a hate crime in Bournemouth.

Two women were approached by a man in the Richmond Gardens shopping centre at around 4.15pm on Friday 6th January.

He's alleged to have subjected them to homophobic abuse, pushed them both, and slapped one of the women in the face.

PC Stephen Golesworthy, of Bournemouth police, said:

“Dorset Police takes all reports of hate crime very seriously and we are conducting a number of enquiries to identify the man responsible.

“I am now in a position to issue a CCTV image of a man we would like to identify as part of our investigation, and I would urge anyone who recognises him to please contact us.”
