Bournemouth burglar jailed for stealing cash from Wimborne home

A burglar's been jailed for two years and eight months for stealing cash from a house in Wimborne.

Dean Anthony Pennett, who's 54 and from Bemister Road in Bournemouth, broke into a flat in the High Street back in March.

The victim found cash - that had been collected for charity - was missing from a bedside drawer, when he returned later.

Pennett was identified as being involved from CCTV footage, and he was arrested and charged with burglary.

PC Jacob Cartwright, of East Dorset police, said:

“The money that was stolen during this incident had been raised for charity.

“A burglary is extremely distressing for a victim, and we are determined to identify offenders and hold them responsible for their actions.”
