Strikes at Bournemouth Airport strikes have been called off while workers vote on a new pay offer.

Around 80 members of the Unite Union including baggage handlers, check-in staff and flight dispatchers were set to walk out tomorrow, then 1, 16 and 17 October in a dispute around pay.

Unite said the strikes had been suspended following negotiations between the Airport and Unite and a new offer has been brought to the table which members will be balloted on.

Unite regional officer Janet Wall said: "Strike action would have caused a lot of disruption to flights – but this has now been called off to allow members to have the opportunity to vote on whether to accept the new deal."
