Body found in search for missing Weymouth man

Dorset Police say the death isn't being treated as suspicious

A body's been found by police searching for a missing man from Weymouth.

The discovery was made at Castle Cove beach just after 9.30am this morning (Thursday 31st August)

The family of 32 year old Daniel Matthews have been informed, although formal ID has yet to take place.

He was last seen just before 9.00pm last night (Wednesday 29th August), with an appeal launched for information on his whereabouts.

The death isn't being treated as suspicious and Dorset's coroner has been informed.

Police have thanked everyone who assisted with the searches and say their thoughts are with Daniel’s family and loved ones at this extremely difficult time.
