Body found in search for missing Wimborne man
83 year old Edward O'Carroll was last seen yesterday morning (2nd October)
A body's been found in the River Stour following a search for a missing man in Wimborne.
83-year-old Edward O’Carroll was last seen in the town yesterday morning (Wednesday 2dn October).
Police made the discovery near to Julians Bridge at around 10.00am today (Thursday 3rd October) and aren't treating his death as suspicious.
His next of kin has been informed but formal identification has yet to take place.
Dorset Police say their 'thoughts are with Mr O'Carroll's family and friends at this extremely difficult time'.
The force has also thanked everyone involved in the searches, including Dorset Search and Rescue (DorSAR), Hampshire Search and Rescue, Wiltshire Search and Rescue (WiltSAR), Wessex Rescue, Wessex 4X4 Response and Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service.
