Body found in search for Bournemouth man

It's after a 40 year-old was reported missing

Officers carrying out searches for missing Bournemouth man Oliver Devereux have found a body.

Dorset Police received a report at around 10.25am on Thursday 1 September 2022 that a body had been found in the water in Poole Harbour.

The body was recovered from the water and, while formal identification has yet to take place, it is believed to be that of Oliver Devereux, aged 40, who had been reported missing at around 12am on Thursday 1 September 2022.

Oliver’s family has been informed and officers say their thoughts are with them at this extremely difficult time.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and HM Coroner has been notified.

The force is thanking HM Coastguard and the RNLI for their assistance during the searches.
