Blandford man charged with attempted murder

It follows an attack on a woman and a boy

A Blandford man has been charged with attempted murder.

At around 7pm on Tuesday (27 August) Dorset Police received a report of an assault at an address in Eagle House Gardens.

It is reported that the victims – a woman in her 40s and a boy – were strangled by a man before the woman managed to kick him away.

The incident involved people who are known to each other.

The victims attended hospital for treatment to their injuries and have since been discharged.

Following enquiries, a 42-year-old man from Blandford Forum was arrested and subsequently charged with attempted murder and intentional strangulation.

He is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court today (29 August).
