Attempted assault and sexual assault on Bournemouth seafront

A man's been arrested following an incident on Saturday evening (17 June)

A teenage girl's been subjected to an attempted sexual assault, while another suffered an attempted assault on Bournemouth seafront.

The victims were outside Harry Ramsden's on Undercliff Drive at around 7.30pm on Saturday evening (17th June).

A man approached them and tried to touch one of them inappropriately before trying to slap the other.

The girls then left the scene.

A 30 year old man from London has been arrested on suspicion of assault and sexual assault.

He's since been released on bail, pending further enquiries.

PC Aimi Cowden, of Bournemouth police, said:

“As part of our ongoing enquiries into this matter, I am asking for any witnesses or anyone with information regarding this incident to please come forward.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have captured any relevant mobile phone footage.

“As part of our summer policing operation, local officers and partners agencies carry out regular patrols of the beach and surrounding area. We will respond to concerns raised and will take proactive action against those involved in reported crime and anti-social behaviour.”
