There is a rare chance to see an art-deco home that’s been compared to an ‘Agatha Christie film set’ in Dorset.

Portland House in Belle Vue Road, Weymouth, is normally only accessible to people who book to stay but this weekend that changes.

The National Trust is opening Portland House which has retained many of its original 1930 features.

On their website, the National Trust said: "Lounging elegantly at the top of a slope overlooking the harbour at Portland, this extraordinary house, surrounded by a huge garden and terraces invokes the sophistication and luxury of old-school Hollywood, with its palm-fringed drive, pacific-blue Crittal windows and the house itself dazzlingly white against the blue of the sea beyond."

For the first time the trust will also introducing a Visitor Passport Stamp.

The Trust went on to say:

"Please bring your National Trust passports if you'd like to collect a free stamp. We will have a memory book in place for people to record memories of the house."

It will open free of charge between 10am and 2.30pm.
