Officers say they received a report at 7.36pm on Tuesday 10 June of a collision involving a pedestrian and an electric motorbike in Fairmile Road.

It was reported that the rider of the motorbike had failed to stop at the scene.

Emergency services attended and the pedestrian, a seven-year-old boy, was taken to hospital with injuries believed to be serious but not life-threatening or life-changing.

Following enquiries, a 17-year-old boy from Christchurch has been arrested on suspicion of driving offences.

Police Sergeant Mike Burt, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “Our investigation is ongoing and we would still urge anyone with information to please get in touch.

“Also, if you have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage, we would ask you to please come forward.”
