Man injured during aggravated burglary in Lyme Regis

Police say the victim was taken to hospital after suffering facial fractures

Police are appealing for information after a man was reportedly assaulted during an aggravated burglary in Lyme Regis.

Officers say the incident happened shortly after 9pm on Saturday 3rd January 2026 when an unknown man gained access to an address in Poole’s Court and assaulted the occupant.

Police say the victim was taken to hospital after suffering facial fractures.

No items are believed to have been taken during the burglary.

Detective Constable Mia Bowditch, of Dorset County CID, said: “We are conducting a full and thorough investigation to this incident and are exploring a number of lines of enquiry to identify the man involved.

“I would urge anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area of Poole’s Court on the evening of Saturday 3 January 2026, or who has any further information that might assist our investigation, to please contact us.”
