Animals at Weymouth Sea Life have been keeping cool with fishy ice lollies.

Temperatures today are due to hit almost 30C in parts of Dorset.

Humboldt penguins and seals are particularly at risk from the heat. It's currently moulting season for Humboldt penguins meaning they have very few feathers and will try to avoid the water.

We sent our reporter to see how the park is helping animals keep cool.

Keepers at the park are using ice lollies to get them back into the water, as well as mist machines and additional shading.

Kico Ilaora is the park's curator. He said:

"These are penguins that are a bit used to the heat but not as much as they are experiencing now.

"Always we have this heatwave right in the middle of summer while they are molting, which means they cannot jump in the water very often so they are exposed to the heat a little bit more.

"We try to make their life as comfortable as we can during these periods.

"We get lots of fish put it in a bucket with water and put it in the freezer. Every so often we chuck them in the water and you can see the animals enjoying trying to pick the fish out of the ice water."
