Anger after hunt ride horses onto family animal farm

The owners of an animal farm near Swyre have voiced their anger after a hunt broke onto their land.

The incident which left broken fences happened at Vurlands Animal Farm on Saturday.

The family owned business have posted on their Facebook Page to say they are not affiliated with the hunt, who've told them they're carrying out an investigation.

In their statement they say:

"Thank you again for all this support, please rest assured we are dealing with this, and following the correct channels with reporting. We really do appreciate the support and care from you all.

"To all of our customers this afternoon, we would like to take this opportunity to assure you that we at Vurlands Farm are in no way affiliated with the the Hunt that broke onto the farm today (or any hunt for that matter)

"We are sorry that some of you had to witness this and we are all just as angry as you will be.

"We are in contact with said hunt, who have assured us that a thorough investigation is under way, our broken fences and any animal injuries shall be covered by them. Although this isn’t enough to cover the distress of today, we can but hope that it’s a start to stopping this ever happening again."

Rural crime officers from Dorset Police have also visited the site.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said:

"This matter was reported to Dorset Police and officers from the rural crime team visited the site on Monday 7 February 2022.

"We are continuing to liaise with the owners."
