UPDATED: One person cut free after three vehicle crash on the A37

One person has been cut free after a serious accident on the A37.

Three vehicles including a large goods vehicle were involved in the crash which happened north of Holywell Cross yesterday afternoon.

Dorset Police were called to the scene along with Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue. together with firefighters from Devon and Somerset, the ambulance service and the air ambulance.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said:

"We were called at 1.16pm on Monday 9 August 2021 to a report of a three vehicle collision on the A37.

"The road is currently closed between Holywell and Yetminster.

"Officers are in attendance with the fire and ambulance services. One male driver has sustained injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing and he will be taken to hospital."

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service were also at the scene, they told Greatest Hits Radio Dorset:

"A crew from Bridport (who were in Dorchester at the time) and three from Yeovil attended, one person was cut free from one of the vehicles and our stop was at 2.30pm."
