A man's in hospital with head injuries after a fight in Bournemouth

An investigation has started after a large fight involving two groups of people broke out in Bournemouth town centre.

Dorset Police was called at 12.47am on Sunday 15 January to the incident involving two groups of people in Old Christchurch Road.

A Bournemouth man in his 40s was taken to hospital with head injuries and remains there receiving treatment.

A 17-year-old boy from St Leonards and a 20-year-old man from Ringwood have been arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm. An 18-year-old man from Ringwood has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

A 17-year-old girl from Ringwood and a 41-year-old Bournemouth man have been arrested on suspicion of affray.

All five people have been released on police bail as further enquiries are carried out.
