9 fire crews still battling fire at Holton Heath

Nine fire crews from Dorset and Hampshire are still at the scene of a heath fire in Poole.

Crews from Poole, Charmouth, Westbourne, Bere Regis, Wimborne, Bridport and Sherborne along with the Unimog from Wareham and support appliances from Dorchester, Ringwood (Hampshire & Isle of Wight FRS) and Maiden Newton are all at the scene.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service say the blaze at Holton Heath is still burning deep within the peat.

Firefighters are working hard to bring it under control.

Drivers are being urged to avoid Blackhill Road.
