Covid case rates have decreased in Dorset but still remain high.

Public Health Dorset say case numbers in the Dorset Council area are still significantly above the average for England and the South West Region.

70 people are currently being treated for Covid-19 in Dorset hospitals.

Everyone is now being asked to take twice weekly rapid flow tests in check they're not infections.

If you are illegal for a booster vaccine you're also being urged to book your appointment.

A spokesperson for Public Health Dorset said:

"Demand is high but appointments are being added so check back regularly if you can’t find a convenient slot straight away.

"With high case rates locally, it’s important that we continue to take steps to reduce transmission wherever possible.

"If we all take steps now we can help bring cases down, reduce pressure on the local health and care system and avoid the need for further measures over the winter period. Ventilation remains key to stopping the airborne spread of the virus – opening windows, even for short periods of time, can make a difference."
