A 17-year-old motorcycle rider has died following a crash at the Safety Drive roundabout in Poole.

Dorset Police were called at 5pm on Friday (28th November), after a two-vehicle collision involving a silver motorcycle and a DAF truck.

Emergency services attended, but despite their efforts, the teenager from North Dorset was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck was uninjured. The boy’s family have been informed, and HM Coroner has been notified.

Road closures are still in place as collision investigators continue their work.

Police Sergeant Richard Stroud of the Roads Policing team urged anyone who might have information about the crash to come forward.

“Despite the best efforts of emergency service colleagues, the 17-year-old motorcycle rider very sadly died," he said.

“Our thoughts are very much with his family, friends, and loved ones at this extremely difficult time.”

Sergeant Stroud added: “We are carrying out enquiries as we seek to establish the full circumstances of this collision and I would urge any witnesses to please contact us.

"I am also keen to hear from anyone who was travelling in the vicinity and may have captured relevant dashcam footage."
