Police have just released details of an accident involving a 12-year-old pedestrian in Gillingham

A 12-year-old girl's suffered a serious injury after being involved in a collision with a car in Gillingham.

Dorset Police have just released details of the accident that happened around 3pm on Thursday (28 October)

The collision happened on Newbury and involved a red Toyota Yaris and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian – a 12-year-old girl – sustained a serious leg injury and was taken to Yeovil District Hospital for treatment.

Dorset Police appeal

Police Constable Kier Dagnall, of North Dorset police, said:

“We are carrying out enquiries into this incident and I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision.

“I would also urge any motorists who were travelling in the area around the relevant time to check any dashcam footage for anything that might assist our investigation.”
