1000 solar panels could power Weymouth College
The College have submitted a planning application to Dorset council
WEYMOUTH College is hoping to install more than a thousand solar panels on the roofs of five of its buildings.
The blue panels, with a silver frame, will be installed on the Purbeck, Warbarrow, Chesil, Lulworth and Fleet buildings, subject to planning consent, if it is needed.
Between them the panels should produce 467kW of energy.
An application has been submitted to Dorset Council this week to determine whether full planning consent needs to be applied for or whether the scheme could go ahead under prior approval rules.
