Women invited to take a 'walk and talk' with a female police officer over safety concerns
It applies to women who live or work in Dorchester, Weymouth or Portland
Women who feel vulnerable when out in parts of Weymouth, Portland or Dorchester are being invited to take a 'walk and talk' with a female police officer.
The idea is to discuss views on women's safety and any experiences they have had.
Officers will then look at possible solutions.
A spokesperson for Weymouth and Portland Police said:
" Tonight, as part of the “Walk & Talk” scheme Neighbourhood Engagement Officer Amanda took a walk with a local lady around the park district of Weymouth.
"As we walked the lady discussed her concerns over areas where the lighting was poor and surfaces were uneven, and it was great to chat about possible solutions and how best to raise these issues with the relevant agencies."
The “Walk & Talk” scheme is for women aged 16 and over who live or work in Weymouth, Portland and Dorchester area.
