Woman suffers head injury in Bournemouth assault
A man's been arrested, but police are appealing for witnesses
A woman's suffered a head injury that needed hospital treatment, during an assault in Bournemouth.
Dorset Police tell us it happened near to MyBar in Charminster Road, between 11.45pm on Saturday (10th February) and 1.00am on Sunday (11th February).
It's alleged the victim, in her 50s, was attacked by a man who was known to her.
A 53 year old Bournemouth man has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning ABH.
He's been released on bail pending further enquiries.
There's an appeal for any witnesses in the area to contact officers.
Detective Staff Investigator Dean Smith, of BCP CID, said:
“We are investigating this incident and from our enquiries we understand there were a number of members of the public at the scene of the reported assault, some of whom went to intervene.
“I would urge these witnesses to please come forward so we can take your account of what you saw. I am particularly keen to speak to a woman who went to assist the female victim during this incident.”
