Weymouth beachfront road to shut overnight this week
Roadworks are taking place on Preston Road from tonight (11th July)
A busy beachfront road in Weymouth will be closed to traffic overnight for five nights, starting later (Thursday 11th July).
Preston Road will be shut between Overcombe Corner and Westerhall - just over two kilometres.
That'll be in place from 8.00pm to 6.00am each night, due to end on the morning of Tuesday 16th July.
It's all so Dorset Council can resurface the road.
The work is weather dependent though, so could be extended if needed.
Diversion routes will be in place using the B3155 Preston Road, A353 Littlemoor Road, A354 Weymouth Relief Road, and B3159 Dorchester Road - and vice versa.
