Weather warnings have been issued for Dorset over the next couple of days (Friday 14th and Saturday 15th July).

There's yellow weather warnings in place for both days, but especially on Saturday.

A yellow alert for Friday affects South and West Dorset in particular.

The area in yellow is where we can expect strong winds on Friday

That warning's in place between 7.00am and 7.00pm, with 35 to 45 mph winds possible.

Strong winds are then also set to batter most of Southern England on Saturday, with gusts of up to 55 mph expected.

The yellow alert is in place from 9.00am until 11.59pm.

The Met Office said: "A deep area of low pressure will affect parts of the UK on Saturday with some very strong gusts of wind likely to its south.

"A blustery and showery day (with some thunder) will see winds gust widely to 40 mph, and locally up to 50 to 55 mph during the daytime.

"The strongest gusts are likely to occur mainly, but by no means exclusively, over hills and along the south coast. Some minor damage and travel disruption is likely.

"Winds will moderate later in the evening and overnight."
