Two motorcyclists seriously injured in separate crashes

The collisions happened within the space of two hours in Poole

Two motorcyclists have been seriously injured in separate crashes in Poole on Tuesday morning.

The first collision happened at the junction of Bournemouth Road and Mansfield Road near Ashley Cross shortly after 7.00am.

A VW Polo, driven by a 70-year-old man from Poole, and a Yamaha motorcycle, ridden by a 44-year-old Poole man, collided with each other.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

PC Constable Mark Palmer, of Dorset Police's traffic unit, said: "I am appealing for any witnesses to the collision to please come forward.

"I am particularly keen to speak to a man who stopped and spoke to one of the two men involved."

The second collision happened at the junction of Beechbank Avenue and Pinesprings Drive in Creekmoor shortly after 9.00am

A Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, driven by a 47-year-old woman from Poole, was involved in a crash with a WK Scrambler motorcycle, ridden by a 40-year-old woman from Poole.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
