14-year-old boy robbed in Dorchester by 'men in ski masks'
Police have described the incident as 'distressing' for the victim
A teenager's been robbed of his bag and coat during an incident in Dorchester.
At around 6.20pm on Sunday 29th January, a 14-year-old boy and 12-year-old girl were walking in South Street.
They saw two men in ski masks and felt concerned for their safety, and so left the area towards Tudor Arcade.
One of the men approached them and tried to engage the boy in conversation, pulling out what the boy believed to be a 'box cutter style' knife.
The boy left the area but returned to South Street a little later, when the men threatened him and stole his bag and coat.
Descriptions
One of the offenders is described as:
- White
- Five feet ten inches tall
- Aged in his late teens
- Wearing a black Puffa-style coat with the hood up
- Jogging bottoms
The second offender's described as:
- Wearing a black ski mask
- Grey hooded top
- Grey or black jogging bottoms
- Black bag with a strap across his shoulder
PC Mike Rumsby, of Dorchester police, said:
“This was a distressing incident for the victims, and we are carrying out a number of enquiries to identify those involved.
“I would ask anyone who witnessed what happened, or who has any information that might assist our investigation, to please contact us.
“I would also urge residents and businesses in the town centre with CCTV, or motorists who were driving in the area and have dashcam fitted, to please review their footage for the evening of Sunday 29 January 2023 to see if they have captured anything of relevance.”
