Teenager attacked with a knife outside fast food restaurant

A teenager has been attacked with a knife in Bournemouth town centre.
Dorset Police received a report at 8.02pm on Saturday (13 May) of an assault involving two people who are believed to be known to each other outside McDonald’s in Old Christchurch Road.
It is reported that the victim, a man aged in his late teens, sustained a knife wound. He was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are not life-threatening.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Bell, of Bournemouth CID, said: “A detailed investigation is ongoing and a cordon was put in place to allow for an examination of the scene to be carried out.
“This occurred during the evening in a busy part of the town and I would urge anyone who saw what happened and has not already spoken to police to please get in touch.
“I would like to reiterate that this incident involved two people who are believed to be known to each other and extensive enquiries are underway to locate the other person suspected of being involved.
“This incident will understandably cause concern in the community and officers from the local neighbourhood policing team will carry out proactive patrols in the night-time economy and can be approached by anyone with concerns.”
