Teenager jailed for Bournemouth stabbing
19 year old Cameron Horler attacked an 18 year old in Windham Road
A Bournemouth teenager's been jailed for three years and four months, for a 'violent' stabbing in the town.
19 year old Cameron Horler has been sentenced at Bournemouth Crown Court for GBH with intent and possession of a bladed article.
He attacked an 18 year old woman outside an address in Windham Road in October last year.
The victim, who knew the defendant, was stabbed several times and was taken to hospital for a number of cuts to her body that needed stitches.
Horler made off from the scene, but was arrested at a nearby address and a knife recovered from a bin.
Detective Inspector Darren Moores, of Bournemouth CID, said:
“Cameron Horler subjected his victim to a violent assault, stabbing her a number of times with a large knife, and it is extremely fortunate that the injuries she sustained were not more serious – or even fatal.
“Tackling knife crime remains a key priority for Dorset Police and we are absolutely committed to taking robust action against offenders such as Horler, who think it is acceptable to arm themselves with a knife and commit acts of violence.
“In this case we were able to swiftly identify and locate the offender so he could be held accountable for his offending.
“We will continue to work with partners to combat the scourge of knife crime and raise awareness of the serious consequences that can result from carrying a knife.”
