Boy arrested after two girls threatened with a knife in Blandford

A young teenage boy has been arrested after two girls were allegedly threatened with a knife in Blandford.

Dorset Police say three teenage boys approached two teenage girls in Park Road Recreation Ground at around 3.45pm on Friday 10 March.

It is alleged that one of the boys made threats to the girls while in possession of a knife.

The boys left the scene and no one was injured during the incident.

A 13-year-old local boy was arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife blade in a public place, making threats to kill and using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of violence.

He has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

The arrested boy and the girls are known to each other.

Police Appeal

Police Constable Jake Evans, of Dorset Police, said: “I understand there may have been several people in the location at the time who may have witnessed what happened.

“I would ask these people to please come forward as you may have vital information to assist my enquiries.”
