Swanage Railway to become the Polar Express this Christmas
A 'magical journey' is being promised for the first time in Dorset
It might be a while until Christmas yet, but preparations are already underway for the Polar Express to visit Dorset.
Swanage Railway will be hosting the special rides over the festive season for the first time this year.
Passengers will be transported into the world of the famous film, for what's being called 'a theatrical day filled with joy, surprises, and endless fun'.
The journeys will take place from November 17th to December 30th, with tickets going on sale from this Friday (14th July).
The steam train will take up to five journeys each day, with seven carriages renamed in honour of Santa's reindeer - Rudolph, Blitzen, Comet, Dasher, Prancer, Vixen, and Cupid, the accessible carriage.
Swanage Railway Chairman, Trevor Parsons said:
“We are delighted to be working with Fused Events and Crosstown Concerts to bring the magic of the Polar Express Train Ride to the Swanage Railway this Christmas."
Rail Events Inc. Marketing Director, Jamie Ryan said:
“The Polar Express Train Ride has been a smash hit in the UK and we are thrilled to add Swanage Railway to our roster of locations this Christmas season. The team in Dorset will host a fantastic event and we can’t wait to experience their live recreation of the classic story."
