There's a plea for people in the Bridport area to be wary of a possible rogue trader incident

Police say a man was seen walking away from a driveway on Thursday morning (15th August).

When challenged, said there were some roof tiles that had come loose and fallen into a gutter.

The resident say it was being sorted, and the man left in a brown coloured van, with no signwriting.

Officers say we watch out for people offering services door to door, as it can often lead to inflated prices and sometimes work that isn't even needed.

In a social media post, Bridport Police gave some advice:

"If you have anyone calling to offer work, you are free to take details and a quote, but never agree to the work until you have sought further quotes and advice from other reputable businesses.

"If anyone comes to your door and is offering work that you do not want, please call Dorset Police on 101. If they are aggressive or violent, or will not leave, call 999."
