A man's been arrested in Weymouth, after reports of a man carrying a large metal pole, threatening someone in a car.

Dorset Police were called to the Rodwell Trail at around 8.45am on Friday (16th June).

It's understood threats were made towards someone at the junction with Old Castle Road.

A 46 year old man from Weymouth has been arrested on suspicion of affray.

He's since been released on bail while enquiries continue.

PC Charlie Frost, of Weymouth Neighbourhood Policing Team, said:

“It was reported that the man made threats toward a person in a small black car at the junction with Old Castle Road.

“We have not identified the driver of the vehicle and I would ask them to please come forward.

“Also, I am keen to hear from anyone with information or relevant footage to assist my enquiries.”
