Man 'armed with mallet' arrested on suspicion of Weymouth affray
Police were called to Maiden Street in the early hours of Tuesday (11th April)
A man's been arrested in Weymouth on suspicion of affray, following an incident on Maiden Street.
Police received reports that a man, armed with a mallet, had approached a male, who was riding an e-scooter, at around 2.40am on Tuesday (11th April).
It's alleged the suspect chased the victim making verbal threats.
A 39 year old man from Weymouth has been arrested on suspicion of affray and released on bail while enquiries continue.
PC Jake Evans, of Weymouth police, said:
“I am continuing to investigate this incident and would ask any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please come forward.
“I am particularly keen to hear from the person riding the e-scooter as they may have important information to help my enquiries.”
