Man charged with kidnap in Bournemouth

Four women and a local man have also been arrested

A man has been charged with kidnap and drug offences after an incident in Bournemouth.

Dorset Police received a third-party report on Friday 28 April of a possible kidnap that happened at around 9.25pm in South Kinson Drive.

It was reported that a group of men were seen leaving a property while carrying another man, who was put into a car before being driven away.

Following enquiries, the victim was identified and spoken to by officers to confirm that he is safe.

A 19-year-old man from the Greater Manchester area has now been charged with kidnap, failing to comply with a section 49 notice to disclose the key to protected information, possession of a controlled drug of class B and two counts of possession with intent to supply of a controlled drug class A.

He is due to appear at Poole Magistrates' Court this morning (Friday 5 May).

A 21-year-old woman from the Wareham area, a 32-year-old woman, a 38-year-old woman, a 44-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man – all from Bournemouth – who were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to kidnap have been released on police bail.
