Man charged in connection with Bournemouth assault

Police are still looking for dash cam or phone footage of the incident

A man's been charged with intentional strangulation, criminal damage and using threatening, abusive or insulting words and behaviour - following an incident in Bournemouth.

A 19 year old woman was attacked by a man known to her, on Hawkwood Road and Parkwood Road, at around 11.20am on Saturday 8th June.

The 19 year old man charged has appeared before Poole Magistrates Court and is next due to appear at Bournemouth Crown Court on Thursday 4th July.

But there's an ongoing appeal for witnesses to the incident, to contact Dorset Police.

PC Lizzie Christie, of Bournemouth police, said:

“This incident occurred in the middle of the day and further enquiries have revealed there were a number of members of the public present, some of whom may have captured the incident on mobile phone camera footage.

“I would ask anyone who saw what happened, or who has captured any relevant footage, to please come forward if you have not already spoken to police.”
