Man attacked after leaving Weymouth pub
He was assaulted outside The Bridge Inn in Preston on Saturday night
A man has been attacked after leaving a pub in Weymouth.
Dorset Police received a report at around 9.20pm on Saturday (25 November) that a man had been assaulted outside the Bridge Inn pub in Bridge Inn Lane, Preston.
It is reported that the victim – a man in his 50s – was involved in a verbal altercation with two young men earlier in the evening who were also visiting the pub. Later in the evening, the victim left the pub and was attacked by the men, sustaining injuries to his back, hand, face and head.
Officers attended the incident and following enquiries, a 20-year-old man from Weymouth was arrested on suspicion of assault. He has been released on police bail as officers continue their investigation. A second man has attended a voluntary police interview.
Police Constable Thomas Pocock, of Weymouth police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident and I am appealing to anyone who was in the pub or around the area of Bridge Inn Lane at the time and has information to help my enquiries to please get in touch.”
