A man's suffered facial injuries after being assaulted on Swanage High Street.

The victim, in his 40s, was walking past Jewson builders' merchants at around 6.00pm on Friday evening (2nd December).

He was approached by a group of around four teenagers who became abusive towards him and then assaulted him.

He needed hospital treatment for his injuries.

PC Stuart Wilson, of Purbeck police, said:

“We are carrying out a number of enquiries into this assault and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed what happened to please contact us.

“In particular, I understand a member of the public came to the aid of the victim after the incident and I would be keen to speak to this individual as they may have information to assist our investigation.

“I would also urge anyone who was driving in the area around the time of the incident to please check any dashcam footage for anything of relevance.”
