Man arrested after reported sexual assault in Weymouth
A 19 year old woman was targeted early on Sunday (18th December)
A man's been arrested following reports of a sexual assault in Weymouth.
It happened in Maiden Street, opposite the Picknicks sandwich shop, at around 3.30am on Sunday (18th December).
A 19 year old woman was approached from behind, by a man who touched her inappropriately.
A 37 year old man from Weymouth has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and released on police bail.
There's now an appeal for anyone with information to come forward.
PC Jena Killingback, of Weymouth police, said:
“I am appealing for witnesses to the incident to please contact us.
“In particular, we would like to identify a group of three passers-by who gave assistance to the young woman who approached them for help.”
