Man arrested following Weymouth robbery

A man's been left with head injuries in a robbery in Weymouth town centre.

The victim, in his 50s, was found hurt in Crescent Street just before 2.00pm yesterday (Thursday 18th April), after allegedly being attacked by two men and having his wallet stolen.

He needed hospital treatment for his injuries.

A 51 year old man from Weymouth has been arrested on suspicion of robbery.

Detective Inspector Rhys Griffiths, of Dorset County CID, said:

“We are carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances of the incident and I am keen to speak to anyone who was in the area and witnessed what happened.

“Also, I am appealing to motorists who may have been travelling in the area and captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage to assist our enquiries.”
